The report also suggests that different types of employment yield different effects on happiness, mostly for reasons related to the above criteria; for example, self-employed people tend to report lower happiness, in part because of lower job security than full-time employees.

Taking time to reflect, and making conscious steps to make your life happier, really does work. Happiness depends on the way you look at life and people around you. I can honestly say I won't regret spending less time with people, and have no guilt over it at all.

My point is, I'm sure you, too, want to make other people's days, you with your six-page to-do list and your life-devouring job and that "will work for sleep" expression on your haunted little face.
So, instead of being unhappy about the change that comes to your life, adjust to it. Share your negative feelings with a friend, a family member or a even a mental health professional. And it spreads out into the world as that now happier person may spread his or her happiness to other people.
